Our Window Restoration Process
Step One: Evaluation and Consultation
Once you decide window restoration, repairs, or new wood windows are needed, the first step is an evaluation and consultation. Once the estimate is accepted you will be added to our waitlist.
Step Two: Repairs
When the job is scheduled we arrive to your location at 8 am. The refurbishing and restoration process moves on to repairs. We repair damaged wood and evaluate operating factors. Weights, ropes, hardware, etc.
Step Three: New Windows (If Applicable)
Occasionally some windows can be so damaged the entire window needs to be rebuilt. Some materials may be reused but in some instances a brand new window will be built on site to match the original. Glazing is then done to secure the glass. It is important Glazing is set about 2-4 weeks and then paint can be applied.
Step Four: Preparing the Jamb
Our team sands and weather strips the jambs. This ensures the windows will be sealed. Some windows such as a double hung will require new ropes and weights which are done at this time along with hardware to operate.
Step Five: Window Installation
The final step is to properly clean and remove any debris during the window restoration and repair and then reinstall each frame. Final hardware is added. Each window is tested to ensure they operate with ease.
